Y.i.RE STAFF

Nyas Cooks, Executive Director

I created Youth in Real Estate – Y.i.RE (pronounced: wire), to serve as a mentor to at-promise youth and communities underserved. My passion for educating youth and empowering communities, stem from my passion of helping others. Currently a licensed Real Estate Agent and from previous employment of being a Personal Trainer, an High School Student Athlete Scout/Recruiting Coordinator and Executive Director of Performing Arts United – PAU, which changed its name and mission statement, to Youth in Real Estate – Y.i.RE, to making an impact within financial literacy, entrepreneurism, and career pathways in the construction trades.

Dianna Snyder, Secretary

With nearly two decades of experience in property management, Dianna Snyder has built a career rooted in organization, problem-solving, and service. Her professional background also includes work in food safety and administrative support for the California State University system, giving her a strong foundation in compliance, coordination, and public-sector operations.

Dianna’s passion for community extends well beyond the workplace. She spent years working with youth through a local football and cheer organization, serving in many capacities and supporting young people both on and off the field. This experience has reinforced her belief in mentorship, structure, and opportunity as tools for growth.

In addition, Dianna is actively involved in tribal work, where she supports initiatives focused on community development, leadership, and long-term sustainability. Her combined experience in property management, education support, youth engagement, and tribal service informs her commitment to empowering the next generation through practical skills and real-world opportunities.

Patricia Leggette, Treasurer

I have dedicated my career to working with students and supporting youth with diverse needs. My background includes supporting at-risk youth, implementing behavioral strategies, and fostering safe, structured, and supportive learning spaces. I spent approximately 10 years working in group homes, followed by 15 years in non-public schools, where I gained extensive experience working with students with behavioral and emotional challenges.

I am now in my 14th year with the Sacramento Unified School District, as a Para Educator where I am committed to supporting students, collaborating with educators, and helping create positive learning environments that help students succeed. I am passionate about helping students grow academically and socially and believe in building strong, supportive relationships with students and staff.
